Jeff and Sarah met at an annual speed dating event held by the University of Chicago Medical School around Valentine's Day, 2013. Sarah, being a good-natured first-year med student, attended to support her school. Jeff, being an enterprising second-year law student, attended out of self-interest. With only two minutes per date, the pressure was on.
The results came in a few days afterward - every "match" (both people checking "yes") received the contact details of their counterpart. A lunch date followed, and then... SILENCE.
At this point the stories diverge, and the person to blame becomes unclear. Fast forward 18 months, and Jeff happens to bike by Sarah as she runs down Lakeshore path, on her birthday no less! Jeff made sure not to repeat his (or Sarah's) mistake again, and contacted her that night. A successful first few dates, and Jeff was well on his way to snagging someone way out of his league!
